Keep the spot light ON!
Tough times are inevitable. And it’s during these tough times that our courage and strength is tested. Today’s situation is one for life’s challenges that is likely to fill us with self doubt and anxiety. Staying strong in the midst of hardship requires us to manage our thoughts, feelings, and behavior.
Accepting reality helps to manage our thoughts and regulate our emotions–which is a key to productive behavior. Acceptance doesn’t mean agreement. Instead, it’s about acknowledging what is happening from a realistic standpoint. So while we may not agree with the way things are shaping up around us, however we can accept that it happens.
There is always a way out. We need to find that way and bounce back. Out of sight, is out of mind, is a very old proverb, however stand true to today’s situation. So what to do? Well its quite easy. Make your presence felt. It’s time to go digital. This time to will also pass by. You need to be ready for the new beginning.
Companies that are working extensively during lockdown:
1} Theobroma: They are still operating with high hygiene standards and under strict government guidelines with minimum staff and are yet producing some great stuff which can be ordered online. How can they not be on our minds for some soul full cakes, pastries and other savory items?
2} Fine Dine Restaurants, Gustoso and Ru-de-liban , although not operational, but are still hiring and building up on the their data base and are very optimistic to hire most of the candidates there are interviewing via telephonic or whatsapp video call.
It will for sure make their life’s easy post lockdown as they won’t need to invest time screening entry well candidates.
Do not follow the crowd, stand out and be in the limelight, For there will always be a silver lining behind the dark cloud when the sun shines.

Redefining Work Practices post Covid-19
We have all witnessed many ongoing discussions on how the COVID-19 pandemic, is likely to cast a dark shadow of recession on the economy, that will change work practices and the nature of jobs forever.
As the economy stand immobile due to the lockdown, we have seen or heard about job losses, disruption of supply chains, and losses incurred by travel and tourism industry. However, looking at the larger picture, if this crisis is managed well, there are chances that opportunities may revamp the economy, as well as reshape workspaces, and their norms.
We should use this opportunity to drive radical changes; this is the beginning of the blended model. We will see offline and online coming together. Skill development that began with this pandemic will emerge with opportunities and through this initiative; the changes required will meet expectations creating more job opportunities
With the work-from-home policy, employers with test the resilience of their employees, it will change the workspaces forever and bring the much-needed balance to work and personal life. This new work culture will bring tremendous opportunities for women too, as they cannot go to work because of the need to stay at home, but the ‘work-from-home’ policy will now also allow women who want to work to get back to it.
While there are several benefits of work-from-home, many are skeptical about its long-term advantages and suspect that it is a momentary trend which may not continue. Even if it provides continuity, we will have wait and watch to see if it can provide productivity in future.
Post-pandemic one thing that will become a yardstick for evaluating companies is their resilience. It’s important to understand in order to succeed, you have to survive. The current crisis will give rise to new trends, where employees will start evaluating employers for resilience as well as performance.

Restructuring : Employer View point
The current scenario has caught us unaware. No work means, no productivity and no productivity is no business, no income. In the struggle to survive and keep the organization running many entrepreneurs have had to think and rethink their workforce strategies, and are forced to make changes that are disruptive and painful.
No matter how hard you try, your expenses continue to mount and are out-of-line with the current needs of your business. What are your alternatives? Or should we say is there an alternative? We all know the answer, but, still check for reasonable options.
Downsizing or doing layoffs is a toxic solution, but will happen, that is for sure, across levels and across sectors. Employers have been left with little or no choice at all. We really don’t know in what way or how badly the cookie will crumble, but the cookie will surely crumble.
The extremely difficult decision is, of who must be laid off. These are critical decisions that have as much to do with the future of the organization as it does with the present. There will be a reduction in manpower however, is there choice?
Even if laying off employees is the only way to keep the organization running, how do you handle your feelings of guilt and sadness? Out of fear and guilt, many employers choose to give employees as little forewarning as possible about an upcoming layoff or downsizing. They fear that if employees know their fate ahead of time, they might become demoralized and unproductive — they may even sabotage the business.
If a layoff is the only option, it should be handled in a humane manner and with the help of experts only. It is critical to ensure fairness and equity.
